An age calculator is a tool that computes the exact age of a person (or the duration between any two dates) in years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds — automatically accounting for leap years, varying month lengths, and calendar differences.
How Age is Calculated
Age is the difference between your date of birth and the current date. The calculation subtracts years first, then adjusts for remaining months and days. Leap years (February 29) are automatically handled — if you were born on Feb 29, your birthday is counted as March 1 in non-leap years.
Age Systems Around the World
Most Western countries count age from the exact birth date. In traditional East Asian age reckoning (Korea, China, Japan), a person is considered 1 year old at birth and gains a year each New Year. Our calculator uses the internationally standard Western method.
Age in Months = (Age in Years × 12) + Remaining Months
Age in Days = Total days between Date of Birth and Today
Age in Hours = Total Days × 24
Age in Minutes= Total Hours × 60
Age in Seconds= Total Minutes × 60
