Why this matters more than usual here
A large share of what we write about is jurisdiction-dependent. What must appear on an invoice, whether an electronic signature is enforceable, how long records must be kept, when VAT or sales tax applies, what a late-payment charge may be — all of these vary by country, and several vary by state or province within a country. They also change. A guide accurate on the day it was reviewed can be out of date a year later.
Where a rule is specific to a jurisdiction, we say so and link to the primary source. But we cannot know where you are, what your business structure is, or which of several possible rules applies to you. Please treat our guides as a well-researched starting point for a conversation with a qualified professional, not as a substitute for one.
Tools
Our tools perform mechanical operations on data you supply. The invoice generator arranges the fields you enter and totals the numbers you provide; it does not verify that the tax rate you chose is the correct one, that you are registered to charge it, or that the resulting document satisfies any particular regulator. The age calculator applies calendar arithmetic; the way a specific law treats a leap-day birthday may differ.
Check the output before you rely on it. Verify totals before sending an invoice, and check a compressed image before you publish it. We are not liable for consequences that follow from unchecked output — see our terms and conditions.
